The Finished, Fully Animated 3D Ponatina Model by DJTHED!!

The Ponatina model by DJTHED is coming along great! With the core setup complete we're free to animate her however we please.  And what could be a better start than a smooth idle, smiling at the camera, and showing off a mighty KICK all-in-one!

So we got crackin' on just that.

The team is thankful for how far we've been able to get this year with the help of the Kickstarter, and we're looking forward to fulfilling the promise of a truly awesome video game experience!

Battle Gem Ponies DevLog #194 (Speech Therapy)

Happy Halloween, Folks!

     Only thing scarier than the monsters out tonight is the possibility of Battle Gem Ponies getting delayed again. Amirite? Harharrr!

But really.

     You know how everybody hates the sound of their own voice in recordings? I've been tackling that uncomfortableness all week. The scripts may be written, but I swear saying all this stuff out loud is more difficult than I anticipated. So used to monologues with the voice in my head for decades, my poor mouth muscles can't keep up. 

     Tons of shoots and reshoots, capturing this narration while I adjust to pronouncing things clearly, using an audible voice, and not making any weird mouth noises. Ooohhh, it's a process alright. But at least they're coming along. Might be a week delay between each one until I get into the swing of things, but my YouTube channel is gonna be a lively place pretty soon. Keep an eye out.

     Time for round two! Battle Gem Ponies is back and better than ever thanks to feedback from the Steam Greenlight community! The turn-based pony RPG now features much more original looking characters, various new environment sprites, and some renamed moves and characters.

     Get your hooves on the newest version of the Pokemon inspired game about bejeweled horse altercations today! Battle Gem Ponies available for Android, PC, Mac, and now Linux platforms!

     This game works with touchscreens, mice/keyboard setups, and gamepads alike (and if not, tell me in the Bug Report Forums). Next update (6.0) will feature tons of little touches and activities to do in the overworld as well as a bunch of new ponies to battle with and capture. Thanks for keeping up with the game's development and enjoy playing BGP Demo 5.1!

     The BronyCon panel is happening today and to celebrate, the newest version is now available for Android, PC, and Mac platforms! The panel attendees will get to see a live demonstration, but those of you at home get to enjoy some pony gaming fun today too!

Battle Gem Ponies DevLog #56 (Projections, Memorials, & YouTubers)

     I am excited to continue development after a hectic week of life getting in the way. Not much got done dev-wise thanks to all the traveling this weekend, reuniting with friends, and adjusting to my school schedule. This week, I've got a grasp on things and I can get started on my 4 hour minimum workday plan. Battle Gem Ponies needs to be out by November. And I'll make sure it happens.

Battle Gem Ponies BronyCon Panel

     The Battle Gem Ponies BronyCon Panel is finally on YouTube for those of you who wanted to see it. Really looking forward to doing it again for 2016 with a more finalized build to demonstrate. I was really flying by the seat of my pants here and hoping I'd get enough interest to make the Q&A last for 30 minutes. You can see me go from shakingly nervous/awkward to relaxed and confident over the course of the hour. It was my first time representing Yotes Games in front of a sitting crowd. I even spilled my water 3 times before starting. With no idea how to sit or form sentences it's a miracle that the panel left such a good impression.

     I can't fairly judge how well it went since watching myself on camera like this for the first time makes me cringe and wish I did certain things better. Things like repeating myself less, having lower volume for the gameplay demo, telling more jokes, having more audience interaction, explaining things more clearly, and more presentation stuff like that. From what I heard though, the panel was awesome and went incredibly smoothly. Take a look for yourself and leave a comment!

     Battle Gem Ponies exposure is happening! Getting lots of activity on social networks and the BronyCon panel footage even hit the web. Time to kick things into overdrive since I just found out that a playable demo for my class is due next Monday!
