A New Progress Report has Appeared!
Q1 is already almost officially OVER!! And sadly, there's still no Act 1 Alpha demo yet...
However, big important tasks have been done like putting NPCs on every map with movement behaviors, battle teams, and placeholder dialogue. It's starting to look and feel like a real Adventure Mode now, but it's not really "a thing" until there's cutscenes tying it all together, ya know? And that'll take at least another month.
A new development update is here! Last one of the year.
Lots to celebrate as the year of BGP's launch comes to a close. But there's so much content yet to come that we feel like things have only just started!

Hey all!
We're cutting it pretty close with the monthly update deadline here, but that's because we wanted to come 'atcha with GREAT news.
And we did it: ALPHA is HERE!! 🎊
Hey guys! Feels like it's been a long while and a short one at the same time. (Maybe sitting at a desk for 12+ hours a day is finally warping my mind 😵💫, but we'll deal with that after launch.)
This month's devlog is coming in so late because I intended on announcing a playable Alpha alongside it. But unfortunately, there's still at least 2 weeks worth of stuff to be done, so we're gonna miss the mark a little. Catch more details on that below.
Have ALL Ponies Fully Animated. That was the goal for November.
Progress has been made in the animation & spritework department, but only half of what we wanted was finished. Lessons learned, and feedback noted.
We've got priorities written down and it basically boils down to
fulfilling promises and implementing what people expect in an RPG like
this...
Overall goal being get this game done in a timely manner, and cut off the fluff we just don't have time for.

The Battle Gem Ponies Combat Demo
Our first public upload in 3 or 4 years after starting this entire project over after tragically losing every project file for the 2017 build. Since then this game has gone from a solo-indie project to a team-powered labor of love and it's looking all the better for it!
We truly cannot wait to hear what you think of this battle system we're creating.

Bugs are being noted as we march toward our Kickstarter in August. We'll be diving headfirst into remaking overworld gameplay for the next couple months, so your feedback on this half of the game will fuel us til then. Feel free to share BGP around with anyone you know that could be into this sorta thing. It's the start of something very fun over here...
