Battle Gem Ponies DevLog #79 (BronyCon Prep)

It's been a busy week. The game looks and feels really different now.
Has it really only been 7 days?

     One week until judgement day. In the sense that people will be judging the game and it's popularity for the rest of the year is on the line here. 7 days left to compile a build that can impress a crowd. Can I get this done without anymore bugs? Finger, toes, and other appendages crossed. I'm staying up 'til 4am every night pretty consistently now because I just get so focused in those quiet hours. Whatever it takes to finish this demo for BronyCon...

I'm feeling that game jam pressure. It's crunch time.

Battle Gem Ponies: Magic Class Moves

     These moves are downright enchanting. (not sorry.)

     The Magic class is for the cutesy, the fairylike, and the things not quite considered spiritual or psychic. It also serves as one of the only ways to get through a dragon's thick scales. This mysterious power could be exactly what you need on your team.

     I'm dressing up the game a bit this week. Adding some flair for the BronyCon build to make it look more impressive than last ear's version. By next week things will look good and feel like you'd expect. Items will work, you will be able to level up, and there will be a file select system where you can name your trainer and pony. Take a look at my progress towards that below the break.

Battle Gem Ponies: Chaos Class Moves

     Chaos class in an interesting one to consider since I put it in to purposefully disturb how combat works. The Chaos class also exists for a special villainous legendary pony I have in mind for later...

     The chaos class exists in that weird realm between Ghost, Dark, and Magic but also includes sound based attacks. Master it, and your opponent's strategies will likely be pushed out the window. Check out all the crazy Chaos Attacks planned for BGP below!

Battle Gem Ponies DevLog #77 (E3 2016)

     So E3's going on today... New Zelda demo, Pokemon details, and Virtual Reality gear all over the place. Yep. Can't afford to miss gamings media holiday so development will have to rest for a minute. I'll have my eyes glued to that for 3 days, but I can still get a couple hours of work done at night once a day's coverage is over and I get caught up.

Battle Gem Ponies DevLog #76 (LAST MONTH 'TIL BRONYCON!!)

     Oh. MY. GOD!! BronyCon is right around the corner and build 5 isn't close to done yet!! Gotta kick it into overdrive man. There's so much to do and here I am fiddling with item menus and sound effect files! Summer 2016 needs to be the time people start telling their friends about the game. Without a hyped up audience the Steam Greenlight Campaign could fail, so this demo needs to be awesome sauce. I have just under a month to do 20 days worth of things on my task-list. Find out what steps I'm taking toward getting there down below.
